Quitclaim, 1581, November 4. 23 Elizabeth I.

Indenture between (1) Thomas Copton of London, esq., and Henry Hodgeson, gentleman, son and heir of Robert Hodgeson, esq., late of London, deceased, and (2) John Louthe, alias Louther, of Twyford (Leics.), husbandman, witnessing that whereas by an indenture dated 6 June, 23 Elizabeth I [1581], the said Thomas Compton and Henry Hodgeson bargained and sold to the said John Louthe a messuage in Twiford, the purchase money to be payed thus: £65 before the ensealing and delivery of the indenture, £40 before 20 November next, and £40 before 24 June 1582, otherwise the grant to be void; now in consideration of the payment of the first of the said sums of £40 and the fact that John Louth has bound himself by recognizance in the sum of £80 for the payment of the remaining £40, the party of the first part quitclaims to him the said proviso or condition, and all their right in the premises. Endorsed with note of enrollment on the Close Roll, 7 November 23 Elizabeth [1581].
